HABA USA, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is voluntarily recalling the Rainbow Rattle Grasping and Teething Toy because the glued knot on the elastic cord can become untied, allowing a young child access to the small wooden and plastic pieces, posing choking and ingestion hazards if placed in the mouth. Safety is our top priority. We are conducting this voluntary recall to keep our customers safe and prevent potential injuries by this toy. 

Approximately 1,305 units of this item have been sold and no injuries have been reported. However, out of an abundance of caution, we have initiated a proactive, voluntary recall of this item. You can read more on the Consumer Product Safety Commission website here.

We kindly ask that you please:

Step 1. Immediately take the recalled toy away from your child, cut the elastic cord with a pair of scissors, take a photo of it, and discard the toy in the household trash.

Step 2. Contact us with your name and address, and a photo of the destroyed product.

Step 3. Send the information via email to recall@habausa.com or call us toll free at: 888-430-0060. 

Step 4. Once we have received your information and your refund preference, we will send you a refund of $12.99.

A. There have been two known incidents reported by consumers, neither of which resulted in any injuries.

Q. How can I tell if my Rainbow Rattle Grasping and Teething toy is affected by the recall?

This item features a circular elastic cord connecting 12 wooden pieces and 6 plastic rings:

• 2 green, 2 blue, 2 red, and 2 orange wooden hemisphere pieces
• One natural wooden hemisphere piece featuring a red HABA logo
• One natural piece featuring the European Conformity (EC) mark
• One natural wooden hemisphere piece featuring the date code “0925” printed in black
• One natural wooden hemisphere piece with no writing or markings
• 1 red, 1 blue, 1 green, 1 yellow, and 2 orange plastic rings

These toys were sold from December 2025 to July 2026.

Q. How can I take advantage of the recall?

A. Step 1. Immediately take the recalled toy away from your child, cut the elastic cord with a pair of scissors, take a photo of it, and discard the toy in the household trash.

Step 2. Contact us with your name and address, and a photo of the destroyed product.

Step 3. Send the information via email to recall@habausa.comor call us toll free at 800-468-6873.

Step 4. Once we have received your information, we will send you a refund of $12.99.

Q. How should I expect to receive my refund?

A. If you purchased your Rainbow Rattle Grasping and Teething toy from Amazon.com, Habausa.com, or Bellalunatoys.com, you will receive your $12.99 refund back to your original payment method. If you purchased your product at a specialty retailer or via any other website, we will mail you a check for $12.99 to your home address.

Q. My Rainbow Rattle Grasping and Teething toy appears to be operating okay. Can I continue to use it?

A. No. Even though your product appears to be safe, we are asking all customers to immediately stop using the Product and participate in the recall by destroying and discarding it, contacting us with your name, address, and photo of the destroyed product, for a refund of $12.99.

Q. This item was a gift, can I still participate?

A.Yes. You should still follow the steps outlined in the recall.

Q. I no longer have the receipt, can I still participate?

A. Yes. You should still follow the steps outlined in the recall Note that we do want you to submit a photo of the product.

Q. Can HABA USA repair the product, or can I repair it myself?

A. No. We are asking all customers to immediately stop using it and participate in the recall.

Q. Are other HABA grasping and teething toys also affected by this recall?

A. No. This is an isolated error in one production batch for this specific item.

Q. What is HABA doing to avoid these types of defects in the future?

A. We will improve our checks before and during the production process, and during final inspection to ensure our safety and quality standards are met. Specifically, conducting internal product inspections to ensure all grasping and teething toys feature a cross knot.
